Sixty years ago, in the month of January, our Institute achieved a significant milestone - the launch of our first programme, the first session (1964) of the Programme for Management Development. This integrated corporate training programme took place on January 11, 1964. The Programme consisted of a Six-Week Middle Management Course from January 11 to February 19, a One-Week Senior Executives' Seminar from February 19 to February 26, and a Two-and-One-Half-Day Top Management Conference from February 26 to February 28, 1964. Due to its innovative three-tiered nature, it became known as the 3TP Programme. 3TP was the idea of Prof. Kamla Chowdhry, IIMA's first faculty member and her unique vision of management development. Although the 3TP brand still exists, it is now offered in a different form. It is important to note that this programme was introduced even before the Post Graduate Programme (PGP) that was launched later that year. Furthermore, it did not take place in any city in Gujarat, but rather at the Rambagh Palace Hotel in Jaipur. As our featured document for the month, we are thrilled to present the brochure of this first session. It contains fascinating details about the admission requirements, fees, accommodations, the need for the programme, members of the faculty, schedules, and more. The document also includes a list of participating organizations and a group photograph from the session. For more information on IIMA's innovative approach to management development and the 3TP programme, please read our dedicated article in Issue 1, Vol. 2 of our quarterly newsletter, 'Brick by Brick', from September 2023.
