Dogs on campus have led to animated conversations, articles in student magazines and at least one confirmed job placement. In the IIMA Archives Oral History Project, Dilnavaz Variava, student of the first PGP batch of 1964-66, recollected the connection between her care for the stray dogs on campus and her becoming the Chief Executive of the World Wildlife Fund India, which you can watch on this 2-minute video link. As the document of the month, please find attached an article from the October 1979 issue of Contact: The Magazine for the IIMA Community called "The Bored Dog" with text and pictures that capture many elements of IIMA's long drawn tryst with dogs. Old timers also recollect a distinct "Stray Cow" issue at one time when the campus walls had not yet come up and the fields were open. The Residence Gate area in particular had very good grass, attracting the cows. |
