Balkrishna Vithaldas Doshi (1927-2023) was one of India's most distinguished architects and the first Indian to win the prestigious Pritzker Architecture Prize in 2018. His vast array of designs include the campus of IIM Bangalore and the Aranya Low-Cost Housing project in Indore. He interacted with Le Corbusier over projects in Chandigarh and Ahmedabad, began to teach in the USA through a fellowship where he first met Louis Kahn, and was instrumental in bringing Louis Kahn to Ahmedabad to design IIMA. In his interview, he recounted his upbringing, interactions with Le Corbusier and Louis Kahn, aspects of IIMA's campus construction and urban planning in India. |
