| When did the Institute launch its first website? We went in for 24x7 online connectivity for our network through VSAT in late February 1996, and our first website that had been developed that month was made available to the outside world. It was built in-house, by Prof. B. H. Jajoo (Computers and Information Systems Group) and a few research assistants. The website was formally inaugurated by the Secretary, Department of Electronics, Government of India, on March 16, 1996. The inauguration was accompanied by a workshop for the faculty. As document of the month, we bring you a mail, courtesy Prof. Jajoo, sent by him to the staff of the Computer Centre giving them the programme for March 16, 1996, and inviting them to a 'terrace party' to celebrate the launch of the website. | ||
