This month's archival snippet is an introduction to the early cases at IIMA and Air India (D): Tariffs, by Prof. Warren Haynes of Harvard Business School (HBS), the first case to be registered in 1963 according to our records. The IIMA Case Centre now has a collection of about 5,000 cases, plus other items such as technical notes and exercises written by IIMA faculty members. Between 1963 and 1965, Prof. Warren Haynes (1921-1972), faculty of managerial economics, served as the Project Director of the HBS team at IIMA. More information about Prof. Warren Haynes, whose father was a railroad labourer and mother was a teacher, can be found on this link. Air-India (D) revolves around the stand the airlines should take "on the North Atlantic fares, on fares in other parts of the world, on proposals to restrict capacity, and on the IATA [International Air Transport Association] system in general." A summary of the case is available here as the document of the month. |
