Falguni Nayar (1963- ) did her B. Com at Sydenham College, Mumbai, and was a student of IIMA (PGP 1983-85). After graduation, she joined A. F. Ferguson & Co. to work in consulting and then joined Kotak Mahindra in 1993 where she worked for nearly two decades in Mumbai, London and New York. In 2012, she set up Nykaa, a retailing firm, which later received a spectacular response to its Initial Public Offering (IPO) in 2021. She was the Chief Guest at IIMA for the 57th convocation in April 2022. In this interview, she reflects on her upbringing, her time at IIMA as a student and the ways in which she navigated her corporate career.
