These paintings are to be viewed as a pair. The first one shows the impact of climate change in the future - oceans will be depleted, soil will turn toxic, much of the earth will turn into desert land. Cutting through this dystopian landscape, is the rock of hope. Strangely familiar in its shape, it's the Indian peninsula that shows the world a new day. People here are helping the denizens of a disturbed world to reach a better place. In the background, the future IIMA campus is shown - it is like a city now, complete with clustered buildings, tube rails and elevated corridors. Students walk or fly around campus with bionic bodies and robotic pets. |
