Location: First floor of IMDC, outside the classrooms
These paintings are to be viewed as a pair. The first one shows the impact of climate change in the future - oceans will be depleted, soil will turn toxic, much of the earth will turn into desert land. Cutting through this dystopian landscape, is the rock of hope. Strangely familiar in its shape, it's the Indian peninsula that shows the world a new day. People here are helping the denizens of a disturbed world to reach a better place. In the background, the future IIMA campus is shown - it is like a city now, complete with clustered buildings, tube rails and elevated corridors. Students walk or fly around campus with bionic bodies and robotic pets. The second artwork shows a world that is filled with hope, The Golden Tree of Life has found a way for revival through renewable solar and wind energy. Green buildings that contain vertical forests and gardens replenish and nourish the habitation. A mixed media approach has been taken, using brass and copper as metal overlays. Small details are highlighted using metal etched art pieces. The artwork conceptual framework has been provided by Baaya Design, the artwork is executed by Yogesh Barve and the metal work by Rushi.
