As the convocation buzz has begun, this month's archival snippet brings the spotlight on the convocation held 50 years ago, on 15th April, 1972. That year, 123 students graduated with the PG Diploma in Business Administration and 33 from the Programme for Management in Agriculture (PMA). The seventh convocation of IIMA in 1972 had Shri C. Subramaniam, the Minister of Planning, Science and Technology, as the Chief Guest, Dr. Kamla Chowdhry stepping in as Acting Director (as Director Ravi Matthai was not well) and S. L. Kirloskar as the Chairperson. As document of the month, we attach the Chief Guest's convocation speech in 1972.
