Prof. Abhishek, Fellow (IIMA) and a postgraduate from IRMA researched and taught marketing communications, promotion planning, consumer behaviour in retail, rural marketing and social entrepreneurship. He was specifically interested in advertising issues that had implications for public policy and in the role of technology in marketing communications. He published his work in several leading journals and also wrote about 15 cases. Prior to joining IIMA, he was with the government and social sector organizations, occupying marketing positions. He was involved in planning and implementing social marketing projects and was associated with a few nongovernmental organizations. Some of the courses he was involved with included 'Marketing Management' and 'Business Research Methods' courses for the first year PGP students, and 'Advertising and Sales Promotion Management' and 'Strategies for Digital Marketing and E-business' for the second year students. He launched an elective course on Mobile Marketing in 2015-16. He taught research methods as a visiting faculty at Aalto University, Finland in 2013. After four years at IIMA, Prof. Abhishek left the institute on December 31, 2016.
