Professor Abhishek Mishra is an Indian academic, politician, and author. He graduated with an MSc in Management from Strathclyde University (1998) in Glasgow, UK, followed by an M. Phil in Management Studies from the University of Cambridge where he continued for the Ph.D. Program (2001-06) in Strategy & Marketing Management (joint program with University of Cambridge, UK & MIT, USA). He was selected for the prestigious Leaders in Development Program at Harvard University (2015). After completing his Ph.D., he moved to the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad where he taught Leadership, Strategy & Innovation in the Business Policy Area (2005-12). He was also a consultant to various MNC’s and Indian corporates, along with government agencies like the Cabinet Secretariat Government of India, Sixth Central Pay Commission and continues to advise corporates on strategy and leadership. He was the Program Director for the IPS Phase V MCTP program delivered in collaboration with London Business School and taught in the MCTP phase V IAS program delivered in collaboration with Harvard University Kennedy School of Government. His research interests include Market Structure, Shakeout, Organisational Theory, Disruptive Innovation, Cost Innovations, Growth of Firms, Leadership & Strategy. In 2012, he contested assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. He won from Lucknow (North) and was inducted as a Cabinet Minister in the U.P. Government. Currently, he is the National Secretary & Spokesperson of the Samajwadi Party. He continues to travel across the world giving keynote addresses, speaking at global conferences, and engaging with academia. He has published two books.
