Humans are now living virtually. They have bionic embeds in their bodies, the heart itself is turning bionic. The Chameleon, a symbol of change and adaptivity is available in artificially engineered formats. Time is a ripple-the past is crumbling away- whether it's the natural world or the culture connects and identities that people come from. Space is the new frontier. New planets are being colonized. And yet, there is a sense of nostalgia and new connections forming. Humans and robots are falling in love, knowledge is increasing, there is excitement of a new world opening up. Perhaps there is hope yet. A mixed media approach has been taken in this large-scale artwork- the base painting is embedded with a heap of microchips and electronic waste. Water ripples have been created using mirror work and Lippankam, a unique craft of Gujarat. The overlay of red- and cement-coloured bricks are inspired by the iconic circular forms of the IIMA architecture and new materials are being used to build the buildings of the future. The artwork conceptual framework has been provided by Baaya Design; the artwork is executed by Pavan Kavitkar.
